CPM simply explained
Formula: How do you calculate the cost per 1,000 impressions?
- CPM = (advertising costs / impressions) × 1,000
Example CPM
To calculate the thousand-contact price (CPM), divide the total advertising costs by the impressions achieved and multiply the result by 1,000 to obtain the costs for 1,000 visual contacts.
How to calculate the CPM
This is how you can calculate the cost per mille (CPM):
- Advertising costs: 500 €
- Generated impressions: 100,000
- Formula: CPM = (cost / impressions) × 1,000
- Calculation: (500 € / 100,000) × 1,000 = 5 €
- Result: The cost per 1,000 visual contacts is €5
