B2B/Business-to-Business: Business-to-Business Relationships – Meaning & Usage
The business relationship between companies is referred to as business-to-business, or B2B for short. The short form is used more often because of the fast way of speaking.
Meaning & Usage
B2B is the term used to describe business and communication relationships between at least two companies. The term is used whenever at least two companies act together. Thereby the offer from the companies between services or goods is not of importance. An example would be a hardware store that receives goods from other retailers.
The difference between B2B & B2C
The difference between the two business relationships is found in the business partners. B2B focuses on other companies, while B2C (business-to-consumer) focuses on end customers. For B2C, an example is selling food to the end customer in the supermarket. Taking the same example, B2B customers such as restaurants would not visit a supermarket, but wholesale markets or wholesalers.
