That’s exactly what fuels organic growth. The following ten methods are free, tried-and-true, and honestly evaluated: Which ones deliver quick results, and which ones are long-term projects?

Organic vs. Paid: What You Really Need

Paid advertising delivers quick visibility—but as soon as the budget runs out, so does the traffic. Organic methods, on the other hand, build something lasting: reputation, reach, and trust. Those who generate leads through social media without paying for them create genuine community engagement.

That doesn’t mean ads are bad—quite the opposite. Performance marketing is a powerful tool. But without a solid organic foundation, even paid traffic is just a waste of money.

The 10-Point Checklist: How to Attract Customers Without a Budget

1. Your LinkedIn Profile as a Personal Landing Page

LinkedIn is the most important free platform for B2B founders. Optimize your headline, the “About” section, and link to specific results. Post authentic content 2–3 times a week about the problems you solve for customers. No product promotion—just real insights. Those who consistently implement a LinkedIn content strategy will generate organic leads within weeks.

Time required: high | Impact: very high (B2B)

2. Enable Google Business Profile

Local and regional service providers who don’t have a Google Business Profile are missing out on leads every day. Create a listing, choose the right category, upload 5 photos, and actively ask for a review after every service. It costs nothing except 30 minutes to set up.

3. Niche Facebook Groups and Forums

Every industry has active communities—Facebook groups, Reddit subreddits, Slack workspaces, industry forums. Anyone who responds honestly and provides value there will be seen as an expert. No spam, no direct advertising. Give first, then win.

4. Build an email list starting on Day 1

Your own email list is the only marketing channel that isn’t controlled by an algorithm. A simple contact form offering tangible value (a checklist, mini-guide, or template) is enough to get started. On average, email marketing has the highest ROI of all channels—even with a small list. 200 genuine subscribers almost always outperform 2,000 social media followers in terms of conversion rate.

Time required: moderate | Impact: very high (long-term)

5. SEO Content with Real Value

Blog posts that answer specific questions your target customers are searching for on Google will drive traffic for years—without any ongoing costs. The key: Don’t write about yourself; write about your customers’ problems. Content marketing is a long-term project, but it’s the only channel that brings in customers while you sleep.

6. Instagram: Authenticity Trumps Production

On Instagram, authenticity works better than glossy content—especially for small businesses. Behind-the-scenes glimpses, real customer stories, quick tips as Reels. If you consistently grow your Instagram following organically, you’ll build a community that buys. Important: Story interactions are the fastest way to spark real conversations.

Time required: moderate | Impact: moderate–high (B2C)

7. TikTok for Surprising Reach

TikTok is the only platform where an account with zero followers can go viral. The algorithm distributes good content to interested users—regardless of follower counts. Those who explain, entertain, or surprise achieve organic reach that others pay a lot for on other platforms. It’s an underrated channel, especially for young target audiences and products that require explanation.

8. Partnerships with complementary providers

Two companies that share the same target audience but aren’t competitors can refer business to each other—via a newsletter, a social media post, or a personal recommendation. This form of co-marketing costs nothing except a good conversation. A web designer and a copywriter have the same clients. So do a tax advisor and a startup coach.

9. Referral Program Without Software

The most effective channel for acquiring new customers is—and always will be—word of mouth. You don’t need an app for this: actively ask existing customers if they know anyone you can help. Sending a personal message after every successful project often generates more inquiries than any campaign.

10. Combine Your LinkedIn Company Page and Personal Profile

Many companies neglect their LinkedIn Company Page because their personal profile has a wider reach. That’s true—but both work best together: The personal profile builds trust, while the Company Page provides credibility and context about the company. Especially in the B2B sector, decision-makers always look at both before reaching out.

Free customer acquisition isn’t a trick—it’s consistent work on visibility, trust, and genuine value. The difference from paid advertising: You’re building something that lasts.

Platform Comparison: Where Is It Worth Investing in Organic Efforts?

LinkedIn: The best choice for B2B, service providers, and coaches—high propensity to buy, direct contact options

Instagram: Great for visual products, local offers, and personal brands—strong community engagement

TikTok: Highest organic reach, younger target audiences, explanatory content preferred

Google (SEO + Maps): The channel with the longest-term impact, but also the most sustainable—it works without ongoing effort

Email: No algorithm, direct communication, highest conversion rate—underestimated by many founders

Industry Forums/Communities: The Fastest Way to Build Initial Trust in Niche Markets

What’s Free—and What Secretly Takes Up Time

To be honest: “Free” never really means free. It means you’re investing your time instead of money. And time has value. If you’re spending 10 hours a week on social media, you should assess after 3 months whether you’re getting the results you want. If not, it’s time to switch channels or tactics.

LinkedIn posts: 2–3 hours per week for initial inquiries after 4–8 weeks

SEO blog posts: 4–6 hours per post; first rankings appear after 3–6 months

TikTok videos: 1–2 hours per video; reach may come immediately or never

Email newsletter: 2 hours per issue; noticeable impact starting at approximately 500 subscribers

Google Business: 30-minute setup + 15 minutes of maintenance per week

Those who develop a clear B2B social media strategy avoid trial and error and focus on the right channels for their target audience right from the start.

The Budget-Free Funnel: How Visibility Leads to Inquiries

Many founders make the mistake of equating visibility with customers. Reach alone doesn’t sell anything. The crucial step is conversion: Anyone who likes your LinkedIn post needs to be directed somewhere where they can take action—a contact form, a free initial consultation, or a lead magnet. Without this step, organic efforts remain a branding project without revenue.

A simple marketing funnel doesn’t have to be complex: Awareness (post/article) → Interest (added value/lead magnet) → Contact (form/message) → Purchase. The clearer this path is, the better even free channels will convert visitors into actual customers.

Conclusion

It’s possible to attract customers without a budget—but not without effort. The ten methods presented here all work if you implement them consistently. The most common mistake: using too many channels at once, without enough depth. A better approach: choose two or three methods that suit your target audience and stick with them consistently for six months. If you see measurable results, you can scale up—if you don’t, you should switch channels or tactics, not give up. Organic growth takes time, but it builds something that paid advertising never can: genuine trust.

Instagram is one of the platforms with the highest reach worldwide in 2026 – and at the same time one of the most frustrating if the algorithm doesn’t cooperate. Many companies and creators invest hours in content that then only reaches a few hundred people. It doesn’t have to be that way. Anyone who understands how the algorithm really works today, which formats are preferred and how reach can be systematically built up has a clear competitive advantage.

In this article, we’ll show you what drives organic reach on Instagram 2026, which content formats get the strongest push and how you can specifically adapt your strategy.

First things first: Instagram reach is not luck – it is the result of format choice, posting time, interaction rate and consistent storytelling. If you know all four levers, you will grow measurably.

Why the algorithm will work differently in 2026 than in the past

Instagram has fundamentally shifted its priorities in recent years. The feed no longer shows chronologically what accounts you follow are posting – it calculates for each user individually which content will engage them the most. This sounds abstract, but it has very concrete consequences for your reach.

The algorithm evaluates each post based on several signals: How long does someone look at the content? Is it liked, commented on, saved, shared? Does the user click on the profile? Do they reply to stories? The stronger these signals are, the more accounts the post is shown to – first to followers, then to similar non-followers via the Explore page and Reels tab.

What has actually changed in 2026: Instagram weights saves and shares much more heavily than likes. A post that is saved 50 times will reach more accounts than one with 500 likes and no saves. This fundamentally changes the strategy: away from superficially pleasing content and towards real added value that is saved or forwarded.

What’s more, Instagram actively promotes non-follower reach. If you only address your own bubble, you stay there. If you produce content that also works without context – i.e. for someone who doesn’t know your account – you will receive significantly more organic push.

A comparison of the five most important content formats

Not all formats are treated equally. Instagram has clear preferences – and those who know these can use their resources in a more targeted way.

Format

Average range

Share rate

Save rate

Algorithm push

Reels (15-30 sec.)

Very high (2-5× feed)

High

Medium

Very strong

Carousels (3-10 slides)

High

Medium

Very high

Strong

Stories

Medium (followers only)

Low

Low

Low

Weak

Lives

Medium (active only)

Medium

Not possible

Moderate

Reels are the format with the highest reach in 2026 – but not because of their length, but because of their control via the Reels tab and the Explore page. A well-produced reel regularly reaches 3-5× more people than an equivalent feed post. Carousels, on the other hand, are the save king format: multi-step content, tutorials and lists are frequently saved and accessed again, which has a lasting positive effect on the algorithm.

More about the Reels strategy in detail: Instagram Reels for companies – strategy and production.

Hashtags, captions and the right time to post

Hashtags are not obsolete in 2026 – but their function has changed. Instagram itself recommends 3-5 targeted hashtags instead of 20-30 generic tags. The logic behind this: A few, highly relevant hashtags help the algorithm to assign your content to a specific target group. Broadly scattered tags dilute this context.

The caption strategy is even more important than hashtags. The first sentence decides whether someone clicks “read more” – and this click is a positive signal for the algorithm. Use the hook effect: start with a concrete statement, a surprising fact or a directly addressed question. Avoid generic introductions such as “Today we want to show you…”

When it comes to posting times, there is no universal golden hour. The optimal time depends on your specific target group. What works consistently: Content must perform in the first 60 minutes after posting. If you post at a time when your audience is online, you will get more early engagement – and therefore more algorithm push. Take a look at Instagram Insights to see when your followers are most active and align your posting calendar accordingly.

Agency tip: Test the same posting time for at least 4 weeks before you change it. Algorithm data needs time to become statistically valid. Short-term upward or downward outliers say little about the real trend.

Actively build commitment: How to create organic dynamics

Reach follows engagement – not the other way around. This means that those who receive more comments, responses and reactions are played out further. Those with hardly any engagement remain in the bubble.

Three levers that have the strongest organic effect:

Actively reply to comments – within the first hour. Each reply extends the engagement period and signals to the algorithm that the post is still relevant.

Include questions in captions – not rhetorical ones, but real ones that allow a short answer. “Which format works best for you: reels or carousels?” is better than “What do you think?”

Use stories for activation – polls, sliders and questions in stories have no reach function, but they train your audience to interact. Those who regularly interact with you in Stories will also see your feed posts more often.

There is also cross-promotion: If you point out new Instagram posts in other channels – newsletters, LinkedIn, WhatsApp broadcasts – you generate early traffic that shows the algorithm that the content is in demand. This is particularly worthwhile for posts in which you have invested a lot of production.

More about the organic growth strategy: Increase Instagram reach organically – business strategy and gain Instagram followers organically.

UGC and cooperations as reach multipliers

One of the most effective ways to scale organic reach is through user-generated content (UGC) and <hiddenlink href="https://socialmediaone.de/b2b-influencer-marketing-strategie-thought-leader/" data-type="post" data-origin="de" data-origin-url="/b2b-influencer-marketing-strategie-thought-leader/">influencer collaborations</hiddenlink>. When other accounts share your content or connect with you, you reach their target audience – without an advertising budget.

UGC works particularly well for companies when customers or users report authentically on products and experiences. These can be reviews, unboxing videos or everyday moments of use. Important: Actively encourage this – through hashtag campaigns, repost promises or direct requests after the purchase.

The micro-influencer strategy 2026 is particularly efficient for influencer collaborations. Accounts with 10,000-100,000 followers often have higher engagement rates than mega-influencers – and their target groups are more loyal and specific. Reels collaborations via Instagram’s official collab function are particularly effective for building reach: both accounts share the same post and the content is played out to both target groups.

Measurement and optimization: What really counts

If you want to systematically build reach, you have to measure. Instagram Insights provides all the relevant data – but which KPIs are crucial in 2026?

The most important metrics for organic reach:

Reach vs. impressions – Reach shows how many unique accounts have seen a post. Impressions count total views. A high impressions/reach ratio can indicate multiple views – a good sign.

Saves – the strongest indicator of content quality and algorithm relevance.

Shares – particularly valuable because they carry the content to other networks.

Profile visits – show whether a post arouses enough interest for someone to want to see more.

Follows from post – the most valuable KPI in the long term because it builds up the audience permanently.

Analyze your top 3 and flop 3 posts at least once a week. What do the successful ones have in common? Topic, format, caption length, posting time? Replicate what works – and eliminate what doesn’t.

Instagram is growing – but growing organically is becoming more difficult. Algorithm updates, a flood of content and declining reach will make gaining real followers without ads a real discipline in 2025. Those who manage to do it anyway will build a community that buys, recommends and stays. This guide shows you the best levers, strategies and mistakes you need to know.

Organic growth on Instagram is no coincidence – it is the result of a consistent strategy, relevant content and systematic community work. If you know the right levers and pull them consistently, you can grow significantly even without an ads budget.

Why organic followers will be more valuable than paid reach in 2025

Paid followers or ad-driven growth brings short-term numbers – but no real engagement. Organically grown followers have actively searched for or found you because your content has offered them added value. They comment, save and share. It is precisely these signals that the Instagram algorithm rewards – and that lead to sustainable, free growth.

For companies, this means that every organic follower is a qualified contact who has already shown interest in your offer. The conversion rates from the organic community are demonstrably higher than from paid traffic. This is precisely why investing in real Instagram reach is worthwhile – even if it costs more time. Find out more in our overview of organic Instagram reach for companies.

The 6 most important growth levers at a glance

Not every channel on Instagram brings the same results. It’s crucial to know which formats and tactics have the strongest impact on your follower numbers – and which ones you should prioritize. Here’s an honest assessment:

Reels: The strongest organic growth engine

No other format on Instagram has generated more organic reach in the last two years than Reels. Instagram pushes short videos algorithmically to non-followers – this makes Reels the only format with which you can really reach new people who don’t know you yet.

What works in 2025:

Hook in the first 2 seconds: Without a clear visual or textual hook, users keep scrolling. The entry point decides everything.

15-30 seconds in length: Shorter reels perform better than long videos in most niches.

Use trending audio: Sounds that Instagram promotes itself receive an algorithmic boost.

Text in the video: Over 60% of users watch reels without sound – subtitles or on-screen text are mandatory.

Clear CTA at the end: “Follow us for more” or “Save for later” – direct and short.

We explain in detail how to use reels strategically in our analysis of Instagram reels for companies: Strategy and Production.

Agency tip: We recommend our clients at least 3 reels per week – but better 3 good ones than 7 mediocre ones. Quality beats quantity. One viral reel can bring in more followers than 30 average posts put together.

Hashtag strategy: niches instead of masses

Hashtags are no longer a growth driver in 2025 – but they are a relevant discoverability tool, especially in niches. The time of 30 generic hashtags is over. What works today is a well thought-out mix of small, medium-sized and brand-specific tags.

The right hashtag structure:

Micro hashtags (under 100k posts): Highest findability in your niche. Your content stays visible longer.

Medium hashtags (100k-1M posts): Good ratio of reach to competition.

Large hashtags (over 1M): Hardly any chance of visibility – use sparingly.

Brand hashtag: Your own tag – for community content and UGC.

Use 5-10 relevant hashtags instead of 30 random ones. Test different sets and use Instagram Insights to analyze which ones generate the most impressions from hashtags. You can find out more about the use of user-generated content in combination with hashtags in our article on UGC content marketing for companies.

Instagram collabs and collaborations: Tapping into new target groups

Collabs – joint posts where two accounts appear as co-authors – are one of the underestimated growth levers. If you publish a reel or post as a collab with another account, it will appear in the feeds of both target groups. This means free reach to new, relevant users.

Collab formats that work:

Brand cooperations: Joint product reels with complementary brands (no direct competition).

Micro-influencers: Smaller creators with a highly engaged niche community often perform better than mega-influencers. Details on this in our strategy for <hiddenlink href="https://socialmediaone.de/micro-influencer-marketing-strategie-unternehmen/" data-type="post" data-origin="de" data-origin-url="/micro-influencer-marketing-strategie-unternehmen/">micro-influencer marketing</hiddenlink>.

Expert interviews: Invite industry experts as collab partners – brings credibility and their followers.

Community challenges: Ask your community to post under a common hashtag and feature the best posts.

Bio optimization: From profile visitor to follower

You can have the best reach in the world – if your profile is not convincing, no one will click on “Follow”. Your bio is your first impression. It takes 150 characters to decide whether a profile visitor will become a follower.

Checklist for a converting Instagram bio:

Clear added value in line 1: What does the follower get? Not “Welcome to our channel” – but “Social media tips for SMEs | 3× per week”.

Address the target group directly: Who do you want to reach? “For coaches & consultants” is better than “For everyone”.

Emoji as a visual structure: Don’t overdo it, but useful as a bullet point and for readability.

Call-to-action with link: Use the bio link actively – and address it directly (“Free download ↓”).

Use name field for keywords: The name field (not the username) is searchable. Use relevant terms: “Social Media Agency Munich” instead of just “Social Media One”.

For a complete strategy for your Instagram agency presence, we recommend our Instagram agency page.

Posting time and consistency: What the algorithm really wants

Instagram evaluates how well a post performs in the first hour after posting – and then decides how far it is played out. This is why the timing of the post is crucial: you want as many of your active followers as possible to be online when you post.

How to find the best time for you:

Go to Instagram Insights → Target group → Most active times. There you can see when your followers are online.

Test 2-3 different time slots over 4 weeks and compare reach and engagement.

General trend for B2C: Tuesday-Thursday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. often perform well.

For B2B accounts: Weekday mornings (7-9 a.m.) or midday, as the target group often scrolls in a business context.

Even more important than the perfect time is consistency. A posting schedule that can realistically be maintained 3-5 times per week is better than a theoretically optimal schedule that stops after two weeks. The algorithm rewards accounts that are regularly and predictably active.

Stories: Engage the community and keep followers

Stories are not a growth format – they appear almost exclusively with existing followers. But they are the most powerful tool for follower retention. Those who regularly post good stories do not lose followers and build real loyalty.

Story formats with the highest engagement:

Surveys and quizzes: Direct interaction tool – users tap, Instagram evaluates this as engagement.

Behind the scenes: Authentic insights often perform better than elaborately produced stories.

Countdown stickers: For launches, events or promotions – creates anticipation and reminder notifications.

Question stickers: Let your community ask questions – and answer them in a story series.

Use highlights wisely: Your best stories as permanent highlights – FAQ, team, portfolio, testimonials.

Agency tip: Stories are the “intimate zone” of Instagram. If you are too promotional here, you will lose followers. Show personality, processes and real moments – this creates the bond that turns followers into real fans.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to grow organically on Instagram?

Organic growth takes 3-6 months to show measurable results. With a clear strategy and consistent posting, 500-2,000 new followers per month are typically possible in this time – depending on the niche, content quality and use of reels.

How many hashtags should I use on Instagram in 2025?

5-10 relevant, niche-specific hashtags are better than 30 generic ones. The name field and the caption are more important for findability than hashtag mass. Test different hashtag sets and monitor the impression sources in Insights.

Are reels really that much more effective than normal posts?

Yes – reels have been proven to reach significantly more non-followers than photo or carousel posts. Instagram prioritizes the format algorithmically because it keeps users on the platform longer. For new follower growth, reels are the only organic format that really scales.

What is a realistic engagement rate for organically growing accounts?

For smaller accounts (under 10k followers), an engagement rate of 3-8% is realistic and good. From 100k followers, the rate typically drops to 1-3%. It is not only the rate that is decisive, but also the quality of the engagement – comments weigh more than likes.

Is an Instagram collab with small accounts really worthwhile?

Absolutely. Micro-collabs with accounts in your niche (1k-20k followers) often bring higher quality engagement than collaborations with large accounts whose target group is less specific. Quality of new followers is more important than sheer quantity.

Restaurants, cafés and bars are facing a clear reality: over 70% of guests choose a restaurant after discovering it on social media. If you want to be visible in the restaurant industry, you need to be present where hunger arises – on Instagram, TikTok and co. This guide shows you how to attract more guests, retain regular customers and build your brand with well thought-out social media marketing.

Why social media is indispensable for gastronomy

Word of mouth was the most important source of recommendations for restaurants yesterday. Today, it’s the Instagram feed. People scroll through food content, see a dish that appeals to them – and reserve a table the same evening. Social media is the new restaurant guide, and the algorithm decides who gets seen.

Gastronomy accounts with a consistent posting rhythm grow 3× faster than sporadically active accounts

Reels and TikTok videos reach on average 5-10× more people than static images

Food content is one of the most shared categories on all platforms

User-generated content (UGC) from guests is more authentic than any glossy advertisement

Google My Business posts and Instagram profiles rank in local search results

The good news: gastronomy is visual. You have dozens of content moments every day – from the preparation in the kitchen to the perfect dish on the plate to the atmosphere during the evening service. You just need to capture and share them. A professional Instagram strategy makes the difference between a restaurant that everyone is talking about and one that nobody knows about.

Choosing the right platforms for your restaurant

Not every platform is equally suitable for every catering business. A fine dining restaurant has a different focus than a street food stand. The following table shows you which platforms have which strengths and how much effort they require.

Platform

Strength for gastronomy

Best formats

Expenditure

Recommendation

Instagram

Food photography, atmosphere, local reach

Reels, Stories, Carousel

Mandatory for all

TikTok

Viral reach, young target group, behind-the-scenes

Short videos 15-60s

High

Recommended for trend-conscious concepts

Facebook

Local events, regular customers 35+, reviews

Posts, Events, Groups

Low

Useful for local bonding

Google Business

Posts, photos, offers

Low

Recipe inspiration, weddings, events

Pins, Story Pins

Low

Good for event catering

Start with Instagram and Google Business. Both together deliver the most leverage with the least effort. TikTok is the next step if you’re ready to invest in video content – the organic reach is unmatched on any other platform.

Food content that attracts guests: What really works

Content quality beats posting frequency. Better three well thought-out posts per week than mediocre photos every day. But what is good food content? It’s not just about perfect photos – it’s about stories, emotions and real moments from your business.

Content formats that perform

Behind the scenes: Show the preparation, the kitchen, the team preparing. These videos are authentic and create a connection. A reel showing how fresh pasta is pulled reaches more people than ten plate photos.

Signature dishes: Every restaurant should have one or two dishes that are unmistakable and are shown again and again. These dishes become the visual anchor of your brand. When someone sees your signature dish, they should know immediately: This is Restaurant X.

Seasonal specials: New dishes, seasonal menus, limited offers – this creates urgency and always gives you fresh content. Post the new asparagus, the first pumpkin risotto, the Christmas menu.

Guests and UGC: If guests take and post photos, share them (with permission). User-generated content is the most credible form of recommendation. Set up your own hashtag and mention it on the menu or at the table.

Team content: Show your chefs, your service team, the people behind the restaurant. People don’t just eat for the food – they come for the atmosphere and the people. Authentic team content creates sympathy.

Agency tip: Plan a “content shooting day” in your restaurant every month. Prepare two to three dishes for photos and videos, load up a content creator or use your smartphone with good lighting. Two to three hours is enough for four weeks of content material – if you plan instead of posting spontaneously.

Instagram strategy for restaurants in detail

Instagram is the most important platform for gastronomy. The combination of feed, stories and reels offers you various opportunities to show different aspects of your restaurant. A consistent image that reflects your brand is crucial.

Feed: Your digital menu

Your feed is the first thing new customers see. It should convey an immediate impression of your brand. Choose a color palette, filter style and image composition that you use consistently. Warm tones look appetizing. Natural light almost always beats artificial light. Perspective is key: Top view for flatware, 45-degree angle for burgers and stacked dishes, frontal for cocktails.

Stories: The daily point of contact

Stories disappear after 24 hours and are perfect for spontaneous content: the dish of the day, a quick “good morning from the kitchen”, a look at the fresh incoming goods. Stories keep you in the minds of your followers – even if they are not actively searching for you. Use story highlights to keep important information permanently visible: Menu, opening hours, events, reservations.

Reels: Your growth engine

Reels are the key to new followers on Instagram. The algorithm distributes reels far beyond your existing follower base. A reel featuring the preparation of your favorite dish, accompanied by a trending soundtrack, can reach thousands of new people – without paid advertising. Post at least two to three reels per week for organic growth.

TikTok marketing for gastronomy

TikTok has changed the way people discover restaurants. “TikTok made me go here” is a real trend – users explicitly go to restaurants because they have seen a video. The platform rewards authentic, entertaining content more than any other platform.

What works for gastronomy on TikTok:

ASMR food videos: Sounds of crispy crusts, fizzy drinks, the cut of a perfect steak

“Day in the Life” videos: A day as a chef, a day as a restaurant owner – from early delivery to the last guest

Food transformations: Raw ingredients become a finished dish – quickly cut, with music overlay

Insider tips on the menu: “No guest orders this, but it’s our best dish”

Reactions to guests: Real reactions of real guests to special moments

Trends on TikTok change quickly. Take a look at which food trends are currently performing – trending sounds, viral challenges, popular hashtags – and adapt them for your restaurant. Even as a small restaurant or SME, you can achieve great reach with TikTok because the platform distributes content regardless of the number of followers.

Community management and guest retention

Social media is not a one-way street. Those who only post but do not respond are wasting the greatest potential of these channels: genuine connections with guests. Community management means responding to comments, replying to direct messages, liking mentions and commenting on reviews – both positive and critical.

Using valuations strategically

Google reviews are SEO-relevant and a purchasing decision factor. Actively ask your regular guests to write a review – preferably directly after a positive experience. Respond to every review: thank them personally for positive reviews, show understanding for negative reviews and invite them to enter into a dialog. A professional approach to criticism sends a signal to potential guests that they are being listened to.

DM channels for reservations

Many younger guests prefer to use Instagram DMs rather than the phone for reservation requests. Set up an auto-responder and process requests promptly. The direct messaging experience is part of your dining experience – even before the guest walks through the door.

Influencers and local creators

Local food bloggers and <hiddenlink href="https://socialmediaone.de/micro-influencer-marketing-strategie-unternehmen/" data-type="post" data-origin="de" data-origin-url="/micro-influencer-marketing-strategie-unternehmen/">micro-influencers</hiddenlink> are often more effective than large, high-reach accounts. Invite local creators to a free dinner in exchange for honest content. The costs for influencer cooperations are manageable, the effect is often enormous. A content creator with 10,000 followers from your city will bring you more table reservations than a national account with 500,000 followers.

Paid social and local advertising for gastronomy

Organic content builds your brand. Paid social brings you targeted new guests – at the right time, in the right area. Local targeting is the decisive feature for gastronomy.

Facebook and Instagram ads for restaurants

Meta ads allow you to target people within a defined radius of your restaurant. You can target based on age, interests (food, dining, local activities), behaviors and even device location. The most effective ad formats for restaurants:

Awareness campaigns: Reach within a radius of 5-15 km around your restaurant

Engagement campaigns: Promoting contributions that perform well organically

Conversion campaigns: Direct reservation requests or table bookings via the website

Retargeting: Users who have visited your profile or accessed your website

Start with a budget of €5-10 per day for local awareness. Test different creatives (photos vs. reels) and scale what performs. Even with a small budget, you can reach thousands of local users every week.

Google Ads and local search campaigns

If someone actively searches for “restaurant in [city]” or “Italian restaurant in [district]”, the purchase intent is high. Google Search Ads appear at exactly this moment. Combine this with Google My Business optimization – regular posts, up-to-date photos, correct opening hours – for maximum local visibility without advertising costs.

Measurement, analysis and optimization

What is not measured cannot be optimized. Social media without analysis is guesswork. Which dishes generate the most interactions? Which posting times work best? Which content formats bring in new followers?

The most important key figures for gastro accounts:

Reach: How many unique users have seen your posts

Engagement rate: Likes + comments + shares / followers – shows how relevant your content is

Story views and completion rate: How many people watch your stories in full

Profile visits by Reels: How many visits to your profile come from Reels

Link clicks and website traffic: How much traffic comes from social media

DMs and reservation requests: Direct ROI from social media activities

Evaluate your insights at least once a week. Recognize patterns: Which post performed best last week and why? Replicate successful formulas, let go of formats that don’t work. Social media strategy is not a one-off setup – it evolves with your audience.

How often should a restaurant post on social media?

For Instagram, we recommend 4-5 posts per week (mix of feed posts and reels) plus daily stories. On TikTok, you should post at least 3-4 videos per week to be promoted by the algorithm. Quality over quantity – 3 strong posts are better than 7 mediocre ones.

Which platform is most important for gastronomy?

Instagram is the most important platform for gastronomy, followed by Google Business (for local search). TikTok is the platform with the highest growth potential, but requires video content production. Facebook remains relevant for the 35+ target group and for local events.

Do I need a professional photographer for my restaurant content?

Not necessarily. Modern smartphones deliver excellent food photos in good lighting conditions. More important than professional equipment is natural light, a clean background and a consistent style. A professional photographer is worthwhile for your main profile picture and special occasions.

How do I deal with negative reviews on social media?

Always respond professionally and promptly. Thank the guest for their feedback, acknowledge the problem and invite them to engage in dialog. Avoid defensive or emotional responses. A professional response to criticism shows other potential guests that you take guest feedback seriously and strive for quality.

When is paid social media advertising worthwhile for a restaurant?

You can achieve relevant results with local targeting for as little as €5-10 per day. Start with awareness campaigns for your immediate catchment area, test different creatives and scale what works. Paid social complements organic content – it doesn’t replace it. Build organically first, then boost with paid.

Real estate agents and project developers face a clear challenge: over 80% of real estate buyers start their search online today – and social media is the first point of contact that builds trust before an initial conversation even takes place. If you don’t have a presence on Instagram, <hiddenlink href="https://socialmediaone.de/linkedin-company-page-optimieren-reichweite-leads/" data-type="post" data-origin="de" data-origin-url="/linkedin-company-page-optimieren-reichweite-leads/">LinkedIn</hiddenlink> and YouTube, you will lose potential buyers, tenants and investors to the competition, who have long been active there.

Why social media is indispensable for real estate

The real estate industry thrives on trust, visibility and the right timing. Social media combines all three factors: you can emotionalize properties, build up your expert status and be present precisely when a potential buyer or tenant is actively researching. Traditional advertising is simply not able to do this.

Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube are the three main platforms for real estate marketing

High-quality visualizations and video tours increase the inquiry rate by up to 40%

Regular market reports position you as an expert and build long-term trust

LinkedIn is indispensable for contact with investors and project developers

Testimonials and success stories are the most effective trust anchors in the real estate industry

The decisive factor here is not the mere presence, but the quality of the content. A poorly produced real estate video is a deterrent. Professional photos, clear texts and authentic storytelling are the basis – everything else is tactics.

Content formats for real estate social media at a glance

Not every format works equally well on every platform. The following table shows you which content types are suitable for which channels – and what engagement rates you can realistically expect.

Content format

Description

Best platform

Ø Engagement rate

Object presentation

Professional photos, video tour, floor plan, key data – emotional introduction

Instagram, YouTube

3,2 – 5,8 %

Behind the Scenes

Insights into tours, renovations, project phases – pure authenticity

Instagram Stories, TikTok

4,1 – 7,3 %

Market update

Current price developments, interest rate news, local market data – building expert status

LinkedIn, YouTube

2,8 – 4,5 %

Tips & guide

Explaining the purchasing process, financing tips, legal information – delivering added value

LinkedIn, Instagram carousel

3,9 – 6,2 %

Testimonials

Customer testimonials, success stories, video reviews – social proof works

5,0 – 8,4 %

Agency tip: Don’t start with a perfect content mix. Choose a format that suits you – for example, weekly market updates on LinkedIn – and build consistency before expanding the formats. Regularity beats perfection.

Instagram for real estate agents: sell properties, build trust

Instagram is the most important visual platform for real estate agents. The feed grid becomes a digital business card: those who show high-quality images and short video tours here arouse emotions – and emotions are the decisive factor when buying real estate. However, a professional Instagram strategy goes beyond beautiful photos.

Reels are currently the format with the highest organic reach on Instagram. A 30 to 60-second property tour, professionally edited with background music and superimposed key data, also reaches users who do not yet follow you. Stories, on the other hand, are ideal for behind-the-scenes content: viewings, renovation progress or short Q&A sessions on financing issues build proximity.

Carousel posts are perfect for advice content: Five mistakes when buying a property, a step-by-step guide to the buying process or an overview of current interest rate developments. The algorithm rewards carousel posts with a higher reach because users interact with them for longer.

LinkedIn for project developers: reaching investors and partners

While Instagram is aimed at end consumers, LinkedIn is the platform for B2B contacts in the real estate industry: investors, financing partners, architects, urban planners and other project developers. With a well-thought-out LinkedIn strategy, you can reach precisely this target group – without traditional cold calling.

The most important content type on LinkedIn is the thought leadership post: personal assessments of the market, lessons learned from completed projects, honest insights into the challenges of project development. Figures and data from your own projects are particularly credible. Those who present themselves authentically and competently here build long-term relationships that are worth far more than any paid advertisement.

Important: On LinkedIn, your personal brand counts more than your company profile. Post as a person, not as a company. Personal posts receive up to ten times more organic reach than company posts – this is a lever that many real estate agents and project developers are not yet using.

Building and scaling organic reach in a targeted manner

Paid advertising can complement organic reach, but never replace it. <hiddenlink href="https://socialmediaone.de/organische-reichweite-social-media-erhoehen-strategie/" data-type="post" data-origin="de" data-origin-url="/organische-reichweite-social-media-erhoehen-strategie/">Increasing organic reach on social media</hiddenlink> is especially valuable in the real estate industry because the trust that comes from regular exposure is more sustainable than any advertising impression.

For real estate agents, this means: choose two platforms on which your target group is really active and use them consistently. Three to five posts per week on Instagram, two to three posts per week on LinkedIn – for at least six months. Reach doesn’t build up overnight, but if you keep at it, you will benefit from an organic network that is constantly growing.

The response time is also crucial for the algorithm: those who actively respond to comments within the first hour of posting signal to the platforms that the post is relevant – and get more reach. This doesn’t cost five minutes, but it makes a measurable difference.

Content workflow and tools for daily practice

The most common mistake in real estate communication is not bad content – it’s inconsistent publishing. A professional <hiddenlink href="https://socialmediaone.de/social-media-content-erstellen-workflow-tools-unternehmen/" data-type="post" data-origin="de" data-origin-url="/social-media-content-erstellen-workflow-tools-unternehmen/">content creation workflow</hiddenlink> is therefore just as important as the quality of the individual posts.

Plan your content at least two weeks in advance. Use a content calendar – whether in Notion, Google Sheets or a specialized tool such as Later or Hootsuite. Create the video material for reels and stories for each new object immediately at the photo shoot. This way, one shoot can result in five to seven different content pieces that you can publish over several weeks.

The following applies to production: Professional real estate photography is not an optional luxury, but a basic requirement. Bad pictures cost more trust than you can build up by posting them every day. Make a one-off investment in a good camera or book a professional photographer – the return on investment is measurable.

Measurement and optimization: What really counts

Social media for real estate is not an end in itself. Every measure must be reflected in measurable results: more inquiries, more viewings, more qualified leads. Therefore, define from the outset which KPIs you are pursuing – and review them monthly.

Relevant key figures for real estate agents are: Reach per post, engagement rate, clicks on the link in the bio, direct messages and – most importantly – the number of inquiries that come via social media. Link your social media profiles to a simple CRM or at least a tracking question on first contact (“How did you hear about us?”) to measure the actual ROI.

Check which content formats and topics deliver the best performance on a quarterly basis and adjust your mix accordingly. What works well on Instagram doesn’t necessarily perform well on LinkedIn – and vice versa. Feel free to contact us if you would like an individual analysis of your real estate social media strategy.

Frequently asked questions

Which social media platform is most important for real estate agents?

Instagram and LinkedIn are the two main platforms. Instagram is suitable for visual property presentations and building a local community. LinkedIn is indispensable if you also want to address investors, project developers and institutional buyers. YouTube is also worthwhile for detailed property tours and how-to videos.

How often should a real estate agent post on social media?

Three to five posts per week on Instagram and two to three posts per week on LinkedIn are a realistic and sustainable rhythm. Quality over quantity: one compelling post per week is better than daily content without added value. Consistency over several months is more important than short-term intensity.

Is paid advertising worthwhile for real estate agents on social media?

Yes, especially for the targeted marketing of individual properties. Facebook and Instagram ads allow very precise target group segmentation according to location, age, income and interests. However, organic content is more efficient and cost-effective in the long term when it comes to building reach and expert status.

How much budget should I plan for social media in the real estate industry?

For a real estate agent with one or two employees, 500 to 1,500 euros per month for professional photography, content production and a planning tool is a realistic starting point. If you also want to place ads, you should factor in a further 300 to 800 euros per month. However, the biggest leverage is time and consistency, not budget.

Should I show my properties on social media first before publishing them on the portal?

A “social media first” approach can be an effective differentiator. Show new properties exclusively on Instagram or in your newsletter 24 to 48 hours earlier – this rewards your followers, increases engagement rates and creates a sense of exclusivity that contributes to brand building.

The exciting thing: AI doesn’t replace all the work, but it speeds up the process enormously and makes video formats accessible to everyone. Ready for AI videos? Let’s go!
Creating videos with AI: Insights

KI Erfahrung von Stephan Czaja (Co-Owner)

Last week, I published the big flagship article on AI in marketing. Today I’m focusing on AI videos and giving you an example project from our agency.

First of all: AI videos need planning, just like “normal” videos that you would shoot for Insta, TikTok, YouTube and co.K

The important thing is: AI videos also need planning. Just because the tools open up new possibilities doesn’t mean that strategy and structure are superfluous. On the contrary: the clearer you know your goal, the better the result will be. Just like with “normal” productions for Instagram, TikTok or YouTube: think first, then shoot – only digitally.

Planning remains crucial

AI is no substitute for strategy

Clearly define goals

Important: You can see my own projects here, which I can talk and write about freely.

Video planning: What are you planning?

Was willst du kommunizieren und wie?

Before you start, you need to know what you actually want to produce. Are you looking for short, funny clips that will go viral or complex explanatory videos with added value? Do you want to work with an AI avatar, a voiceover or use yourself as the avatar? This decision determines the direction. AI is versatile, but the goal determines which tools you choose. It’s like cooking: You can have the best ingredients, but without a recipe, the result will be random.

An editorial plan and a keyword plan are also recommended. The keyword plan ensures that your videos are found for the right search queries – particularly important on YouTube. The editorial plan ensures that you publish regularly and link your videos together. This allows you to build up your reach over time, as viewers jump between clips instead of dropping out after a single viewing. Ideally, you should link the whole thing to your website or e-commerce for active link building.

Keyword plan for visibility

Editorial plan for consistency

Crosslinks for reach

Create shorts & reels

For short formats such as reels or shorts, the combination of the right tools is crucial. ChatGPT for scripts, Midjourney for images, Freepik for design, HeyGen for avatars or Google Veo for videos – the landscape is constantly changing. Every month there are new models, updates, new players.

It is worth regularly testing which tools currently deliver the best results. Those who remain active here have a clear competitive advantage.

The best tools for reels and videos?

Instead of complicated productions, scenes are created with movement, light and realistic animations. For companies, this means faster content, lower costs and new creative possibilities… but what are the best tools for reels and videos?

Our current recommendations:

Google Veo 3

OpenAI Sora

Runway @ Freepik

Remember: Keyword and editorial plan

With good planning – i.e. keyword and editorial plans – scripts and visual processes can be perfectly prepared. Who speaks what? Which scenes will be shown? Which additional elements, such as titles or superimposed texts, increase attention? You can define all of this today before the actual production.

The end result is a video that is not simply “AI content”, but is tailored to your brand. Our own test videos have already generated tens of thousands of views on YouTube in the beta model – not because AI is magical, but because we put 80% of the work into planning before we fired up the tools.

Combining the right tools

Plan visual processes in advance

Quality comes from preparation

Example: Short explainer video with 20k views

Example: Explain infographics

Example: Info-Tainment “Before and after effect”

Explainer videos and long formats

Many people think that AI is only suitable for short clips. The opposite is true. Long formats such as explanatory videos can also be produced entirely with AI. For example, we created a video that explains the function of a slimming syringe – complex, but implemented with AI in such a way that the information is understandable and visually attractive. Another example is a video that explains how to navigate a website. In the past, tutorials like this would have been a major project that took several days to produce. Today, you can implement them in a fraction of the time – and improve them at any time or create variants for other target groups.

AI is also suitable for long videos

Less production effort

High content density possible

Example 1: Infographic (from above) also available as a long version for more information.

Example 2: Video for website, explanation of the main menu.

Video planning for 1 year

In the past, you would probably have needed a whole month of production for a year’s worth of videos. Studio, videographers, editors, protagonists – everything had to be coordinated. Today, with AI, you can implement a complete annual plan in much less time. Especially if you already have experience, it’s extremely fast. After more than ten years of brand development and content production at the agency, we know which processes are important – and that’s exactly what AI accelerates. Experience multiplies with technology. The end result is an output that would have previously consumed many times more resources.

Month production vs. days with AI

Experience + AI = speed

Scalable annual plan possible

Content nach Keyword Plan (YouTube SEO)

Own video avatars: That’s me!

AI avatars are an exciting experiment. Yes, that’s me – in digital form. We have launched a test project to show how detailed you can create videos in the field of real estate investment or marketing with your own avatar. The result is amazingly close to reality. Voice, gestures, expression – everything looks authentic. You can see it here in Vibe Coding and further down, here in the post!

Of course, this saves time because I don’t have to invest an hour of production every time. An avatar can be created once and then used as often as you like.

Of course, this technology also has its limits. Video editing remains manual work, AI doesn’t do that yet. But if you have little time or want to create additional content, avatars are a great option.

And very important: recycle content

It gets particularly exciting when you recycle existing content: a blog post or SEO article can be cast in video form without you having to step in front of the camera yourself. This opens new doors for anyone who has previously worked more text-based and now wants to conquer video as a channel.

Avatar saves production time

Can be used multiple times

Ideal for content recycling

Here is an example of mine:

AI videos as a game changer? Yes. Yes. And yes!

AI videos are more than just a short-term trend. They are changing how we think and implement content. Shorts and reels for quick attention, explainer videos for more in-depth content, avatars for efficiency and brand building – anything is possible. The key is not in the tool itself, but in the way you use it. Good planning, clear goals, well thought-out editorial and keyword strategies make all the difference. Then AI won’t become a toy, but a real game changer for your marketing.

Short formats for reach

Explanatory videos for depth

Avatars for efficiency

Insight! Vibe coding with AI

Vibe coding with AI – There is now a term for what I do: vibe coding. It describes the way you work with AI tools without having to do any hardcore programming yourself. AI in coding opens up completely new possibilities – from web development to apps, games and marketing calculators. Today I’ll show you what vibe coding means, what problems it solves and how I’ve implemented over 100 of my own tools in the last few months – from real estate apps to fashion brand quizzes. Let’s go!

Standard model for the highest quality

Those who value depth of detail should opt for the standard model. This produces scenes with finely tuned lighting, realistic movements and better composition. This version is the first choice for branding campaigns, image films or more elaborate explanatory videos. Quality takes precedence over speed here.

Realistic scenes and lighting moods

Finer picture quality

Recommended for branding and storytelling

Picture-to-video for creative effects

Now Google is going one step further. Images can be automatically transformed into short clips. This allows marketers to bring existing assets such as product photos or logos into motion and generate creative animations. Ideal for campaigns that want to refresh existing material or adapt it for different platforms.

Turn photos into animated clips

New use of existing assets

Public preview from August

Integration and workflows

The strength of Veo 3 also lies in its integration. The technology is ready for immediate use via Vertex AI and tools such as Canva. Over 70 million videos have already been created with it, including more than 6 million for companies. With SynthID watermarking, AI content is clearly marked – an important step towards transparency in marketing.

Can be used directly in Vertex AI

Seamless integration with Canva

SynthID ensures traceability

Planning remains crucial

Even though Veo 3 brings enormous speed, it is no substitute for planning. As with classic productions for YouTube, Instagram or TikTok, a clear goal, an editorial plan and a keyword plan are the basis for successful campaigns. Only by combining strategy and technology can AI unfold its full potential.

Strategy remains indispensable

Keyword plan for reach

Editorial plan for consistency

Good planning is half viral! Here are some practical tips:

Tip, read the tips here: <hiddenlink href="https://socialmediaone.de/ki-prompts-fuer-veo-3-virale-videos-fuer-instagram-tiktok-youtube-co/" data-type="post" data-origin="de" data-origin-url="/?p=92631">AI prompts for VEO 3</hiddenlink>

AI videos as a marketing standard

Google Veo 3 shows where the journey is heading: fast clips for social media, high-quality productions for branding and creative animations from images. For agencies and brands, the model is a tool that reduces costs, speeds up processes and enables new formats. Those who integrate AI into their planning today will have a clear head start tomorrow.

Quick clips for social media

High-quality videos for branding

New formats with picture-to-video

What comes next?

Veo 3 is not the end, but the beginning. Models will be longer, more detailed and more flexible. Voices and avatars will become more realistic and workflows even more automated. For marketers, this means: get started now, gain experience and optimize processes. Because AI video production (as well as AI product photos for e-commerce) will become as commonplace in the coming years as social media is today.

Longer and more realistic clips

Seamless integration into marketing workflows

Starting early gives you a head start

Who is better? Veo 3 vs Sora

Finally, a direct comparison: Sora from OpenAI vs Google Veo 3.

Instagram new features 2026 – What new features are available on Instagram? Instagram is constantly evolving and introducing features that facilitate creative work and promote community building – in short, Insta is becoming even more personal. Some updates are reminiscent of functions on other networks such as TikTok or Snapchat, but are tailored to the meta world. Here you can find the most important new features (also in use at our Instagram agency) and what they mean for your marketing. The new Instagram updates, let’s go!

Reposts, map and friends tab

Neues mit Stephan Czaja (Co-Owner)

Let’s start with reposts, map and friends tabs! Here are the new Instagram functions explained step by step:

With reposts, you can easily share posts and reels – visible on your profile. This is reminiscent of Twitter/X, where reposts are central, but is expanded on Instagram with additional notes and context. The new map works in a similar way to Snap Maps: Users discover content based on location, ideal for local events or stores. The Friends tab shows which content your friends like, comment on or repost – a function that relies heavily on community dynamics.

Share reposts for content

Map with location-based posts

Friends tab shows activities

Looking for a good Instagram agency for your brand? Write to us or give us a call: Contact.

Trial reels and pause function

Trial reels are a test run for your videos: They first appear to non-followers before they become visible in your own feed. This allows you to test content risk-free, similar to A/B tests with YouTube Shorts or TikTok Ads. The pause function improves usability: instead of holding down, a tap is enough to stop reels – a small but important improvement that gives users more control.

Reels first for non-followers

Testing without loss of range

Pause with a single tap

Edits as a standalone video app

Instagram has released its own app, “Edits“, which combines video editing and uploading. Functions such as green screen, AI effects, voice FX and 4K export are strongly reminiscent of CapCut, the standard app for TikTok creators. The difference: Edits is directly integrated into the Meta ecosystem and provides analytics in real time. This positions Instagram more strongly in the creator market and makes third-party apps less necessary.

Standalone app for editing

AI effects and green screen

Real-time analytics included

Quiet posting and flexible grid

Quiet Posting allows you to publish posts without notification – perfect for tests or less important content. Twitter/X had a similar function with “Shadow Tweets” for experiments, but Instagram makes the feature more widely usable. In addition, the profile grid can be reorganized, similar to Pinterest boards or TikTok profiles. This allows campaigns, topics or stories to be staged more visually.

Posts without notification

Grid can be sorted as required

Direct messages with new options

DMs get more individuality: nicknames can be assigned in individual and group chats. There are also over 300 sticker packs that make communication more lively – an approach that Snapchat and <hiddenlink href="https://socialmediaone.de/telegram-einfach-erklaert-app-funktionen-nutzer/" data-type="post" data-origin="de" data-origin-url="/?p=46129">Telegram</hiddenlink> have been using for years. Digital profile cards that can be shared in stories like interactive business cards will soon follow. Instagram is thus moving closer towards competing with Messenger and making DMs the central point of contact.

Nicknames in chats

300 new sticker packs

Digital profile maps

Stories with more interaction

Stories become even more communicative: comments are directly visible to the public as long as the story is online. This makes the exchange more dynamic and is similar to YouTube Shorts comments, only for a limited time. At the same time, the profile grid has been changed from 1:1 to 3:4. This change brings Instagram closer to TikTok, where vertical formats have long dominated, and makes profiles more modern and visually exciting.

Comments under Stories

Profile in 3:4 format

Opportunities for your Insta marketing?

The new functions are more than just gimmicks. Reposts, Trial Reels and Quiet Posting open up data-driven tests and flexible strategies. Map and Friends tab help with trend tracking and local marketing. Edits strengthen production quality directly in the app, while stories and grid adjustments allow for more visual storytelling. If you cleverly combine Instagram with tools and strategies from other networks, you can build reach more sustainably and scale content with less risk.

More tests without risk

Stronger community involvement

Better visual storytelling

What’s new with TikTok and YouTube?

TikTok and YouTube are further developing their short video formats: YouTube is focusing on AI-generated content and new dubbing options for international reach with Shorts, while TikTok is focusing heavily on creative editing tools and trends in the music sector. In 2026, both platforms will provide tools that make short clips even more global and relevant.

Instead of complicated productions, scenes are created with movement, light and realistic animations. For companies, this means faster content, lower costs and new creative possibilities.

Short clips with a strong effect

KI Update mit Stephan Czaja (Co-Owner)

Sora creates videos up to 20 seconds long in 1080p. That sounds short, but it’s enough for ads, product presentations or social media posts. These formats are particularly effective on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram or YouTube Shorts. This allows campaigns to be launched more quickly, trends to be picked up on and target groups to be reached precisely.

Clips up to 20 seconds

Optimal for TikTok, Reels & Shorts

Perfect for product ads

Branding and storytelling with Sora

Anyone who values brand building will benefit from Sora’s ability to create scenes with realistic composition, lighting moods and movement. This makes it possible to produce image films, short story formats or branding campaigns that create closeness to the brand and look professional – even without a large camera team.

Realistic scenes for image films

Visually strengthen brand messages

Storytelling without filming costs

Picture-to-video for creative effects

A powerful feature of Sora is the conversion of images into videos. Logos, product photos or key visuals can be animated and set in motion. This is an efficient method of repurposing existing material, especially for campaigns with many assets.

Turn images into animated clips

Get more from existing assets

Creative animations for campaigns

Demos here:

Use in performance marketing

Performance marketing is all about speed and testing. Sora can be used to generate different ad variants that can be used for A/B testing. This allows marketers to react more quickly to data and translate creative ideas directly into measurable campaigns.

Produce ads faster

A/B tests with variants

Faster optimization of campaigns

Integration into marketing workflows

OpenAI offers Sora as an API. In conjunction with ChatGPT or DALL-E, workflows are created that seamlessly combine text, image and video. This makes the entire content production process – from the script to the storyboard to the finished clip – digitalized and scalable.

API-first for automation

Can be combined with ChatGPT & DALL-E

Scalable processes for agencies

Strategy remains indispensable

As powerful as the technology is, nothing works without planning, even with Sora. A clear editorial plan, target group analysis and keyword strategy remain the basis of every successful campaign. Only when technology and strategy work together does AI unfold its full effect.

Strategy + AI = success

Keyword plan for reach

Editorial plan for consistency

AI videos as a marketing standard

Sora shows how content production is changing: short, realistic clips for social media, creative animations from images and branding campaigns in cinema quality. Those who integrate these possibilities today will benefit from lower costs, greater reach and a clear competitive advantage tomorrow.

Cost savings for productions

New formats for social media

A head start for early adopters

Sora can already do that:

Outlook: What’s coming with Sora 2?

The next stage of development is on the horizon: longer videos, better audio quality and more realistic avatars. For marketers, this means gaining experience early, optimizing workflows and being ready for the next generation of AI videos.

Longer clips in the future

Better voices and sound

Starting early gives you a head start

Sora vs Google Veo 3

Finally, a direct comparison: Sora from OpenAI vs Google Veo 3.

Instagram’s own data shows that reels get 3x more organic visibility than feed photos and carousels. Despite this, the majority of business accounts continue to produce mainly static posts. This is a competitive advantage for those switching to Reels now. Here’s the strategy.

Why Reels are the most important Instagram unit for companies

Instagram has clearly communicated its algorithm priorities: Videos – especially reels – get the most organic reach. The reason: Reels are not only played out to the follower network, but also to the Explore feed and the Reels tab – two areas that reach new target groups that do not yet follow the account. A well-produced reel can make a company account visible far beyond its own follower base. This reach is organic – for free, if the content is strong enough.

What makes a strong reels concept

The first 2 seconds are crucial. If you don’t attract attention immediately, you will lose the user to the next reel. Strong openers: A surprising statement, a visual hook (unexpected image, quick cut), a direct question to the user, or a provocative thesis. What comes next: The content must deliver what the hook promises. Either there is real added value (information, entertainment, inspiration) – or users scroll away and give the algorithm the signal “not relevant”. Typical formats that perform strongly: Tutorial/how-to, behind-the-scenes, before-and-after, storytelling with personal insight, trend reaction.

Reels production: What is really necessary

Good reels don’t need a studio budget. What really counts: a modern smartphone with a good camera, good natural light or a simple ring light solution (50-100 EUR), a stable rig or tripod, and a person in front of the camera who looks authentic. What doesn’t count: elaborate post-production, perfect lighting, professional editing. TikTok and Instagram prefer content that looks like personal recommendations – not TV commercials. Henkel employees film product tutorials with their smartphones – and perform better than the high-budget agency videos.

Instagram Reels + Paid: Sparingly, but effectively

Organically reinforce strong reels as paid posts: This is the most effective combination. Placing a reel that has already achieved 50,000 views organically as an ad means that user behavior already shows that the content fits the target group – paid only extends the reach. Instagram Reels Ads perform better than static feed ads – on average 30-50 % lower CPM. Reels ads are the first choice for product launches, seasonal campaigns and reach push with new target groups.

Reels for employer branding and recruiting

Instagram Reels are a powerful recruiting channel for companies targeting younger audiences – especially in industries where skills shortages are real. What works well: A day in the life as a [job title], team event clips, behind-the-scenes from the office or production, employee stories about career paths. These formats reach candidates in their natural social media use – without a job portal context, with high emotional effectiveness. dm, Deichmann and Edeka use precisely this strategy – and report a significant increase in the number of applicants from the Gen Z target group.

Frequently asked questions

How long should Instagram Reels be for businesses?

15-30 seconds for maximum completion rate and organic reach. 60-90 seconds for more complex how-to content or storytelling if the story requires it. Basic rule: As short as possible, as long as necessary. Do not stretch content artificially.

How many reels per week should a company account post?

3-5 reels per week is the benchmark for measurable organic reach. Below that, the algorithmic push fails to materialize. Consistency is more important than frequency – 3 reels per week over 3 months beats 10 reels in one week and then a break.

Do I need a creator or can I produce reels myself?

Both are justified. Internal reels (employees in front of the camera, behind the scenes) appear authentic and cost little. Creator reels bring an external network and community trust. The strongest strategy combines both: internal formats for employer branding and authenticity, creator collaborations for product content and new target groups.

Instagram Reels algorithm: What organically leads to reach

Instagram Reels achieve 22% more interactions on average than static posts and are played out significantly more often to non-followers by the algorithm. (Source: Social Insider Analysis)

The most important ranking factors at a glance:

Watch Time %: What percentage of the video is being watched? Below 30 % = poor signal. Target: 60 %+. The hook in the first 3 seconds decides everything else.

Saves: Saved reels are the strongest engagement signal. Content that is genuinely useful – checklists, tips, instructions – is saved.

Shares: Forwarded reels signal relevance and increase the reach disproportionately, especially shares via DM.

Loops: If someone watches a reel several times, this is considered a strong signal of quality. Short reels with open endings or cliffhangers actively promote loops.

Content types that really work for businesses on Instagram

Behind the scenes: production process, everyday team life, insights into the warehouse – authenticity clearly beats glossiness on Instagram. Users want reality, not advertising aesthetics.

Quick tutorials and how-tos: 30-60 second explanations of a specific problem for your target group. These formats are saved and shared – strong algorithm triggers.

Before/After: Transformation content – whether product result, renovation or service result – generates strong engagement signals through visual excitement.

Focus on employees: Personal insights from team members perform better than impersonal corporate communication. Show the face behind the brand.

Trend adaptations: Apply current audio trends and reel formats to your own topic – but only if it fits the tone of the brand. Forced trends come across as embarrassing.

Reels production for companies: Minimal setup

Professional reels don’t need a film studio. The proven minimal setup for consistent content quality:

Smartphone with good camera (iPhone 13+ or current Android flagship)

Ring light or window as a light source – natural light almost always outperforms artificial light

Tripod or mount for stable shots without blurring

CapCut for editing and automatic subtitles (free of charge, also for subtitle insertion)

Trendy audio tracks from the Instagram music library – measurably increases algorithmic reach
